    Minimag screwed up!

Ok, this is getting on my nerves....

For some odd reason, when I pull the trigger, it fires normally. And then when I release the trigger, it fires normally.

It's an auto firing Mag. Problem is I'm not using an auto firing trigger. And it only does this once every five shots or so.

That coupled with the sear not completely reseting every third shot is getting on annoying.

Now my best guess is something to do with the on/off. I've already replaced the teflon o-ring (and oiled the mag) with no results, so my next guess would be the on/off pin, but I'm probably wrong. After that perhaps the sear...

My Mag is completely stock, even the barrel is the same stock Minimag barrel.

Please help. If this keeps up, I'm tempted to just scrap the Mag and go get myself a cocker or something.

I'd check your sear assembly and bolt for wear. I think that's the start of your problems...

if you have vernier caliper or micrometer handy, start by measuring the length of pin and trigger rod. if these are fine, it probably is the sear.

      Automag Classic/Minimag:

      On/Off Pin: .750"

      Trigger Rod: 1.985"

The bolt and sear seem to be in good condition... Will check the on/off later today.
