    macroline + lvl 10 question

    Hey all,

I was at Pev's Fairfax the other day (my local paintball store) talking with the AGD tech there about moving over to a macroline setup on my MicroRT. I told him that as soon as I get my next paycheck I'm planning on installing a LX in my gun, and he basically gave me the impression that having a macroline setup with a LX is a bad move. Unfortunately, I didn't really find out why...

I've read some other posts on the boards about how, after a level 10 install, users have found that there still remains between 300-400psi left in the hoses from the nitro tank to the gun after you turn off the air supply and shoot your mag until it won't cycle again. It's my understanding that this is no biggie, you can either get a pro-connect or a slide-check, or just use some muscle to de-gas the gun with whatever quick disconnect you have connected. But since I'm getting a macroline I'm not going to have any more quick disconnects, and I imagine yanking on the macroline hose to de-gas w/ 400psi in it might be a bad move? Lemme know guys.

Do you have a screw in tank? Cuz here's what I do.

I have an on/off for my screw in. I turn the gas off and then un screw the tank. It relieves the pressure gradually. (granted, I run SS line, but the concept is the same.)

I do the same thing. works for me.

OR, i actually have a quick disconnect on the valve side. then again, i also use the SS lines, so this doesnt really apply to you.

After reading some other posts on the macroline question I've decided I'm just going to run a stainless hose from my tank to the Retro Valve and get some heat shrink tubing to make it look nice for my vanity. Thx.

I used to do the samething, I had a cheap quick disconnect and would just blow off the extra air in the line until the discon. blew apart, so I went with a slide check and a clear macroline, guess what? the macroline blew aprt when my Flatline malfunctioned and gave me a pretty good welt on my finger, needless to say I going to S.S soon as my Ule shows up. Here is a pic of a slide check if haven't seen one on a gun. I'm fairly new and I did'nt know what a slide check was.
