Bolt sticking on the valve when the valve is out of the gun.

Sorry for the long title :P

Here are my problems. I am setting up my Xvalve, Im having problems with air leaking down the barrel. When I went to take the bolt off to remove the powertube tip, it took a good deal of effort. I found this odd since on my old valve the bolt slides easily on and off.

    1. Yes the bolt and valve are well oiled.
    2. I tried both of my level 10 bolts, they both stick on the XValve.
    3. I tried both bolts on my classic valve (which also has the level 10 mod) and they do not stick, they slide freely.
    4. This is with the valves just sitting on my bench, not attached to the gun.

Is the bolt being this 'snug' normal with the XValve?

My final problem, Im leaking down the barrel. I started with the 1.5 carrier and 2 shims, and Ive worked down to the .5 carrier with no shims.

    1.5 2 shims -- leaks
    1.5 1 shim -- leaks
    1.5 0 shims -- leaks
    1.0 2 shims -- leaks
    1.0 1 shim -- leaks
    1.0 0 shims -- leaks
    0.5 2 shims -- leaks
    0.5 1 shim -- leaks
    0.5 0 shims -- leaks

I've oiled the carriers orings before I put them in. Currently I have the 0.5 carrier with 1 shim in. Once I attach my gas tank, there is a massive leak down the barrel. If I push the bolt back, the leak down the barrel stops and is replaced with a much smaller leak, which I assume is the bolt venting. If I pull the trigger after this, the major leak down the barrel starts again.

I've been trying the search feature without much luck--everything I've turned up so far has said to switch to smaller carriers\fewer shims. So I'm lost currently with what to do to fix this problem.

    If this matters-->

    Current setup:
    intelliframe
    ule body
    xvalve
    lvl 10 bolt mod
Inputting ~800 psi to the Xvalve.
The XValve has its velocity adjuster turned in as far as posssible.

Hopefully somebody can offer me some advice on how to fix this. If I wasn't clear on anything, please let me know so I can try to explain better.

    Thanks

Your set up says your velocity is all the way in? Try 2.0 no shim (so you know your leak is the carrier)and middle spring. Run your velocity out till you see the oring then turn it in till its snug. Gass up and the turn it up till it fires. If you leak go down one carrier. Crono and work from there.

      Thanks much

so far so good -- the barrel leak is gone, now the bolt is sticking. But Im making more progress than I was before. Hopefully the solutions in the guide fix my bolt stick issues.

You DID use a 3/8" wrench to remove the level ten powertube tip Right? Because if you used a pliers or adjustable wrench, you may have distorted the powertube tip. It doesnt take much to wreck this piece...

Nope, didnt need to use any tools at all to remove the powertube tip, did it by hand.

But its a non-issue now. Got the bolt to unstick and its firing really nice. It's a bit rainy but I ran ~250 paintballs thru it with no problem before I ran out of air.

I ended up using the 1.0 carrier with 1 shim.

Thanks for all the help I got here and on #automags
