does surface area between tank reg and valve matter?

Ok I posted this question in the Paintball Forum but it went all the way to page two without a reply so I deleted it and I'm gonna try it in here, since it is more of a tech question...

Alright I just finished hooking up the gas lines on my newest mag and I've got a question. As you can see in the picture... the ULE mag has much less surface area between the tank reg and the valve than the minimag. Is there any advantages/disadvantages to having shorter or longer hoses if you are using nitro? I havn't actually shot the new ULE mag yet but I've just been dry firing (setting up the LX) so I dont know how consistent it is shooting. I just dont want my new gun's performance to suffer from something as simple as a hose length...

excessive hose can add too shoot-down, however, i wouldnt consider your mini set-up 'excessive'. if you are using hpa on that mini, why dont you run that hose from the asa directly into the valve and bypass that foregrip? the other thing to consider is this, with the stock mech. trigger and hpa, it is highly unlikely that you need to worry about shoot-down for any reason!

well I'm really more concerned with the short hose on my new ULE mag. I just wanted to make sure a hose that short wasnt going to cause shootdown. I'm not sure why I dont run the hose right from the ASA to the valve on my minimag, I had it like that for a while but I didnt like the hole in the vert adapter being exposed so I rerouted the hoses.

o.k. listen, the way it works is this, the air hose is a container, the bigger (longer) the container is, the longer it takes to fill. the smaller (or shorter) the container is the quicker it will fill! i hope this didnt sound sarcastic, i didnt mean it that way at all! so, the smaller you can make the volume to be filled, the faster it will be filled!
