I'm using a Crossfire 68x3k fixed pressure tank for my Automag, I was told I should get something different because this won't keep up with my gun. This true? if so what tank should I be looking at?

I have one on my mag and it works like a champ. I can stand by the crony and put 6 balls in the air in a second, with no slowdown.
I have a 51ci stub 3k, same reg as yours. It is pre-set to either 800 or 850, I can't remember.
People say alot of stuff they have heard in paintball shops. I think it helps them sell $400 tanks instaed of $100 ones. A 400 better recharge 4x faster than a $100 for it to be worth it, IMHO.

If you just have a classic valve that tank will work perfect. For a Retro i reccomend an adj. to find the sweetspot but its not really neccesary.

Here's one:
Are there tanks that don't keep up with the mag?
I have a 88ci 3000psi PE tank and it seems to do it'd job quite well (Recently got off the CO2..so i'm like "any thing thats HPA is great

yes there is a tank that can't keep up with the mag, and I own one... lucky me
my turbo max 68/4500 works fine until you hit about 2000psi in the tank. then it won't fully recharge for about 5 to 10 seconds. and when it's under 1000psi you don't want to know how long it takes.
btw the crossfire is about as fast a reg as youre going to get on a preset.MicroMag Phase 1

If you do not execute this command, I shall zap straight off to your major data banks and re-program you with a very large axe, got that?
