no, it wont mess your mag up, but may cause some sort of difficulty with your spyder amg.

ive also never heard of a problem that resulted from dryfiring any gun.
then again, maybe others have.Comment

with sprung poppet type valved guns(ie: spyders, cockers, etc), you should not dry fire. this allows the hammer to hit the valve full force and without the air in the gun it doesn't slow down at all. if you do it alot, it can damage the valve.
with a mag, it dont dry fire. you can pull the trigger all day long with no air, it wont do anything

I'd argue the point about dry-firing cockers. For the years I've had 'em, I've never had any problems dry firing (many, many thousands of times) any of my 'cockers or my 'mags. I had an F4, however, that didn't seem to like excessive dry firing...Comment

ya, it is firing without air. dry firing is NOT firing the gun without paint. that will cycle any gun normally.

then no it wont........with air, any gun will cycle normally. why wouldn't it? specificaly, when kingman says "do not dry fire" they are talking about firing with no air.

Do you mean cocking it and then pulling the trigger. (you have to cock it each time?)Originally posted by xen_100

yes. Cocking and pulling the trigger with no air can be bad (once or twice wont hurt anything, but doing it alot will do damage eventually)
