    problems with the flatline

my flatline drops off after firing rapidly. like from 300 to 100 on my gauge. ive heard about this being a common problem. i was wondering what i can do to fix it or if i can send it in to agd and get it fixed because i heard they were sorting the problem out recently

You would probably get a little more help in the tech forum. I would suggest that you do a search there and read BlackVCG's maitanance page on the flatline (its in a sticky), that will help a lot. I had a similar problem and have been too lazy to order the parts, but im pretty sure that I know what it is. Mostlikely your problem has to do with the reg seat oring. Read the posts and make sure first before you order the necesary parts.

      Hope I helped.

are you really running the flatline at 300psi?

i thought i read somewhere that a stock flatline dosent like to run that low.

something about needing a new spring pack if you ran that low.

but i could be wrong. best bet is to call AGD.

from the judge in the WDP v Sp case.... " i find it significant that aside from a somewhat limited notebook produced by gaston, the four named inventors offer NO documentation of there work or there contributions to the conception or reduction to practice of the claimed invention"

No he said that was the visible drop of pressure lag he could see on the Guage.

Try turning the reg seat over, upside down. That has fixed one or two of them. Worth a shot.

Not to hijack the thread, but flatline 4500 reg seats have been out of stock for MONTHS... and they can't even make new ones... what's going on?
            sigs are overrated.

Latest word is the first protos from a new supplier are there and if they pass QC more will follow. So last I heard was they looked good but not sure the final outcome yet.

They are looking for a new supplier of them is whats going on.

i do run it at 200-300. but i cant really lower it more because i was shooting really hot even when i lowered the pressure via the cocking rod. i need to get a bunch of allen keys cause i lost my set then i will try to do some work on it.

AGD Europe uses AA reg seats. i've had similar problems with my flatline. (Very inconsistent output)
Now i put an AA reg seat in and all my problems are gone!

Note: When putting in an AA reg seat, it's a little harder to put the two halves back together (to get a closed fit), just turn the reg nut in a few times and then you can screw the body halves together all the way.

Hope this helps, it worked for me!

First of all, the stock 3K and 4.5K Flatlines aren't designed to run at 300psi output.

If you want to run it that low, you need to get a regular AIR valve spring pack. It's all black instead of being silver like the stock FL spring pack.

Get one of those and see how it works for you.

Only on 4.5K FL's should you flip over the reg. seat if you have flow/consistency problems.

I do not recommend using the AA hard seats in FL's. You can bend the piston pin if you aren't careful putting it together.

Moving this to the tech forum...

Ok, so you are running the flatline on a cocker? Fist off, with a cocker it's not a bad idea to run a secondary reg for adjusting the velocity. Second, DataPimp is right, Flatlines are not designed to be a low Preassure HPA system so that might be part of your problem right there. I would try to turn the Flatline up to about 500-600psi and then adjust the cockers main spring and/or hammer velocity adjustment to get you down to the field limit. I would also look into investing the $100 into a good secondary regulatr (something like a Palmer Stabilizer). Then again, there really might be a problem with the flatline, in which case, contact AGD tech support or try the tips in BlackVCG's thread.

theres a slight chance that your regulator spring pack could be upside down, this was the case with me once ago and i was having serious dropoff and recharge issues. i flipped the spirng pack and i was good to go.
