Mag shooting doubles and blowing up paint in barrel

I set up a nice little Mag for myself a couple of weeks ago and got to try it out at a local field, and I was having all kinds of issues... I really need some help.

    Here's my setup:
    X-Valve
    Lev 10
    Z-body
    Warp Feed
    Intelliframe
    Macroline setup
    On/off drop forward
    70ci Worr Games Tank
    12" Dye Boomstick (.688 bore)

Was using mostly Draxxus Hellfire Paintballs (.682-.685 bore)... Very small paint to get backspin with my Z-body and barrel setup.

    MY PROBLEMS
-Gun kept spewing out two balls at a time.
-Gun kept blowing up paint in my barrel... never in the mainbody, usually about an 1-3" in the barrel.

I have no idea why it's doing this... PLEASE HELP.

I did take off my warpfeed, and it pretty much stopped blowing two balls at a time, but it was still making balls explode in the barrel...
P.S. I really want to use my warpfeed, I hope that's not the problem...

have you checked your nubbins? If they're getting old, the warp may be pushing the balls past them

were you trying to lay a string out there, or did this happen every time you pulled the trigger even once?
      sounds like you're short-stroking.
When you short-stroke, you don't let the trigger all the way out, preventing air from refilling the chamber. that means next time the bolt is released, there won't be enough air to expell the ball. most of the time, the first ball will travel 2 inches or so down the barrel, and in Tom's words: "the next shot will blow it to HELL". Occasionally there will only be enough pressure the push the ball just past the detent. Then you get double feeding.

try firing slower. make sure you're letting the trigger all the way out before you pull it back again. If it still does it, I have another Idea...

z-bodies are cocker-threaded, aren't they? I think they use some other kind of detent. plus, it still happens when he's not using his warp. I think the detent more than likely is just fine. It wouldn't hurt to check tho.

*edit- now that I re-read your post, it looks like the detent could be a problem. When your warp was on, you'd get double feeds, but you wouldn't double feed without the warp, right? you may need a new detent, but it still sounds like your short-stroking.

I don't think anything is worn out in my warpfeed... It's brand new... Just got it friday.

I really doubt I'm short stroking it though... I've been playing with Mags for 6 years now, and I'm pretty use to their mechanical trigger pull... It is an X-valve too, and from what I've noticed, this things is a lot harder to short-stroke than a regular valve. I also let my two teamates try it out and they had the same problem on the field.

I did just get the lev 10 pre-assembled on my X-valve and I haven't even bothered to "fine-tune" it... Could that be the problem.

I'll look into the ball detent too, It might not be working as well when I'm warpfeed-ing it (I play left handed and I have a left side powerfeed) from the bottom left of the powerfeed and my detent is on the right side.

Could very well be the problem. It's very rare that a level ten will work ideally out of the box. Follow the intructions on the mini cd if you got one. If not, gohere.

Also, Did you just recently get either the X-valve or Intelliframe? Both of those change the feel or the trigger. I know I had to adapt to the new feel when I put those on my mag. Even when I put the X-valve in, I had your exact problem. Mine was partly due to short-stroking and maybe partly from not having the level ten set right.

Adjust your LX, try it again.

How long ago did you get your Z-body? Have you had anything like this with the Z-body before?

I've pretty much changed everything except for my custom rail assembly... so you may be right in that I'm not use to the trigger, and that's exactly what I thought at first... But the only way I'll know for sure is to keep playing around with it... as long as I know it's nothing internal and it's easily fixed, I'm happy... I'll just play around with it and tell ya what happens, thanx.

Hellfire being a small paint is probably allowing the second ball in the stack to push the first ball in the breach forward. The second ball would then drop into the breach behind the first. Firing two balls is definately a recipe for breakage, especially when coupled with a Z body and the backspin bumper. I'm not sure how well Hellfire balls will work even if you do get them to feed properly. They are a very fragile ball to be smacked against the backspin bumper.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

That is very true... These things would pop real easily, even when lobbed 'em only a couple of feet when we where testing our paint... I've been waiting on a Freak Kit I ordered cause I'm returning my Phat Kit... So I decided to go with a smaller ball and stick with my Dye instead of getting the Phat kit dirty and scratched up before I returned it.

Obviously I wasn't thinking well enough to realize that a smaller ball would easily double feed into my breach and cause disaster on the field. Thanks for the tips everyone.

Can't wait for my Freak Kit ...
I'm mad at Evil for being flakey and not making enough Evil Pipe kits for Cockers. They wouldn't even tell me when more would be ready for sale.
