    Got a little problem here...

Okay guys I cleaned out my MinimaG after the tournament last night. And this morning I gassed it up and started shooting to make sure everything was working fine.

When I shot only like 4-5 bps I would get really nasty shootdown?! I figured it was the regulator seat...but I wanted to find out from everyone.

    Anyone had this problem too??

    Update:

I took the reg seat off and tried to clean it as much as possible and I made sure the reg pin and spring were in there good. Then I cleaned it all out again with Q-Tips and paper towels. Then I gassed her up again, and shot as fast as I could. There was no visible or sound showing shootdown that time. So I geuss it's working now.

Does anyone know why this happened? Because it was kind of weird and got me worried a bit there.

what you need to do is completely unscrew that velocity adjuster nut on the back of the valve. It will come out, followed by a spring pack (metal cylinder with a series of compressed disks on it), and still inside of the valve there will be a brass cylinder, this is the regulator piston. (when you say reg piston, many people confuse this with the metal piston that rests on the spring that seals with the reg seat). There will be a hex nut facing you, you can get the reg piston off with either a large allen wrench inserted into the hole and pull out, or a dental pick or thin wire of some sort. When you get all of those out get a towel and wipe down the spring pack/reg piston/adjuster nut completely. Get a paper towel and wipe down the inside of the valve where all those pieces just were. Get some white lithium grease and spread a nice light coating of it on the spring pack to prevent rust (DO NOT USE THIS LITHIUM GREASE ON THE GUN'S O-RINGS! USE GUN OIL!) Inspect the o-ring on the reg piston, if it looks ok then put it back in first, followed by the spring pack (the larger metal disk goes in first), and then screw the adjuster nut back on, your problem shoudl be fixed.

edit: lightly oil the reg piston o-ring before you put it back in
