    lx woes

okay, so after my utter stupidity installing my lx on my classic valve, i went and sprung for the emag valve. im now trying to install the lx on the emag valve. heres the problem, when i try to seat the carrier at the bottom of the pt tip, it will not go down far enough. it goes down just to the end of the threads on pt tube, so that the pt tip cannot screw in all the way. i tried pushing it down with a pen, no luck. i tried giving it to my dad to push down with a pen, still no luck. i then resorted to screwing the pt tip down as far as i could go by hand, and then using using a wrench to force the tip on, thus pushing the carrier down all the way. this worked, but it stripped the oring on the carrier, badly enough that it wont make a full seal. I also tried putting a lot of oil on the carrier and on the pt threads, but still to no avail. i want to play tomorrow so any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you can't fix it soon just run the classic valve so you can play.

You put the teflon backing washer in and seated that all the way down? Seat that first. Make sure that the carrier is not cocked in the PT. Try no to use the PT tip to screw it down. The tip is brass and pretty soft. If you strip it out you will need to buy an new one. Try getting a socket, the things you use to tighten bolts and nuts, and place it on the outer lip of the carrier to try to seat it. Also try to wiggle the socket if it won't line up right. It shouldn't give you that much trouble. Good luck.

Its a very tight fit and what I found was once you get that carrier into the threading it will go cockeyed very easily giving the impression that its stuck. The best thing to use is a plastic pen so you can wiggle it through the threading. It does take some force. Do NOT use a wooden pencil, I did that the first time and got some shavings of wood in my system. Dummy.

Once you get it to work in there once, you'll have a feel for it.

      g'luck! It'll fit!

        Best tool so far

Pick up a bottle of KC oil. That bottle cap is the perfect tool for seating these carriers. Its worth its weight in gold.

Best tool ever for all Mag tech repairs is a BIC pen. However, I did upgrade to the uni-ball pen which works just as well, but looks better.
