I'm building a mag and have an older mag and an older mini(both about 5-6 yrs old). Are the valves the same? Should I choose one over the other? I do have a level 10 kit to and a warpfeed to install.

depends. a x valve is just a lighter version of the retro but whith the level 10 included. both will allow you to through more paint, and you can get the x-valve in colours. however if you are a one shot wonder then there is no need

all it takes is one paintball to get a player out
i still use a classic valve from 93-94... holes line up, and my lvl 10 works just fine... that's all that matters to me right now
but i'm still gonna get a x-valve one of these daysComment

i'v got a classic in my micro from about the same vintage, however i have a custom on/off top( prevous owner made it) and have striped the reg spring and pin out, now it's just off the maxflow, works realy well.MicroMag Phase 1
