Newbie needs help with RT Pro

I am trying to get back into paintball after not playing for a few years. I'm 20 and figure I'll probably be playing paintball for many years to come, so why not buy a decent gun to use for most of that time. A local retailer that a co-worker buys his stuff from went out of business recently, and I purchased a used 2002 RT Pro.

I uploaded a few pics here and here. The guy had sold all his other parts, so this is what I have now.

First off, the gas line is VERY much in the way of my hand holding the gun comfortably. It runs right between my last two fingers. What can I do to fix this? Could a simple wrench cranking it down cause an air leak? Where could I relocate it and with what mods?

I would like to go to a remote quick-release system where my tank is strapped on to my back somewhere. Where might I find aftermarket parts to do this?

As far as hopper and tank, I was planning on a 4500psi tank with some sort of agitated fed hopper. Is there anything else to consider here, or are all these pretty much alike (brands)?

Concerning the barrel, I have heard many good things about 'boomsticks' but never shot one. How do these perform with my gun/where can I go to check out reviews?

If I don't get any help, I'll just google for the answers. But here's hoping someone out there is willing to help out the newbie!

on the gas line problem- just turn it around, make the u opposite. you sould be able to with a wrench but loosen dont tighten.

The remote- you can find these parts at pretty much any paintball store. ive even seen them at dicks sporting goods. but you would need a harness or pouch to hold the tank. another idea is a drop foward, it balances out the gun and makes it easyer to handel.

Tank- yep just about any N2 tank will do just make sure you get a high uotput pressure one.

loader- a good agitated loader is always the 12v revolution, there is also the Richochete loader witch I find to be a little more reliable, but thats just my opinion.

Barrel- I have never used a boomstick, but I have a smart parts progressive and it works just dandy, and it was cheap. boomsticks tend to be on the expensive side.

    hope that helped

Suggestion - keep the rig on the marker with the bottom ASA and run the remote into that. That way you can move the bottle to the marker if needed. Sometimes a remote is a PITA.

I use a 45degree fitting out of the valve to move the airline away from my fingers, otherwise it runs at about the same place as yours.
