    shootdown

just got the tko package off paintballgear.com, went to go play for the first time today and first shot is great, when i shoot about 3 or 4 shots in a row (not even fast, just a shot a sec) it gets weaker and weaker and by the 3rd shot its droppin right in front of me and then burpin. and im not short stroking. This thing is right out the box havent done a thing to it. Usin pmi 68/3000 output at 850. the manual says to have it at 800 but my friend with autmag uses 850 and works fine. he says i should try to send it back to paintballgear and get new one and if they wont then send it to agd, still got the free first 90 day fix. well, reply if u can help. i appreciate it.

    peace

Try backing your bottle out of the ASA a bit and try it again. Sometimes the pin depresser in the ASA pushes the pin on the pin valve in the bottle too far and actually shuts the air supply off. If this is the case you will have to use a spacer in front of the bottle or shorten the pin depresser in the ASA.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

well the air supply cant be stopping because if you wait about 3 seconds its back up to that first shot again, then it will do the same thing i said above if you shoot a few in a row.

        shootdown

I had the exact same problem. Try adjusting the trigger rod. That's the little rod that extends out behind the trigger. It justs screws in and out. Even though you are not shortstroking the trigger, the rod might be short stroking because it does not extend out far enough. Fixed my problem completely.

It still sounds like the ASA. There is still air getting to the valve just not fast enough to recharge the valve at a rate high enough for you to shoot multiple shots in a row.

Shootdown is generally caused by a corrosive regulator brass piston.

Take off the back part of the regulator and pull out that brass piece you see in there. It is lubricated well? It is a little rough (corroded)? If so, this is your problem.

Because it's not letting the valve recharge fast enough, causing your shootdown. Though generally this is more or less for higher rates of fire.

If this is smooth and lubed, then it seems like it's your airflow into the regulator. Possibly the airline itself, the ASA, maybe some teflon tape got in there if it was used. Something is restricting your airflow. So check that out as well.

I think Athomas is probaly on the right track. Your shootdown sounds like a air supply problem, I looked at paintballgears website and it looks like they use MacroLine not microline so that shouldent be the problem. If you can try a friends tank on your gun, this may fix your problem, also compare your ASA's pin length if its not long enough it wont open all the way causeing your pressure to build very slowly, the same thing will happen if the pin valve is pressed in to far. If the pin looks realy long try putting a old tank o-ring in the end of your ASA so the tank wont screw in all the way. GOOD luck

a good rule of thumb for screwing in tanks.....1/8-1/4 turn more, after the gun gasses up. there is no need to screw it in all the way just because there are threads left to screw in.

personally, if the tank is not the problem, I would send it back to paintballgear. its new, you shouldn't have to screw around fixing it.

are you using the stock asa that came on it? if so then athomas is right. I had the same prob, i either screwed it in to far or not far enouph. I would get about 10 shots then nothing.

and if u think that the tank isnt the problem just Try usein a diffrent air sorce and see what happens
