two very weird LX problems..

first problem....the gun will OCCASIONALLY leak out of the bolt. not always, but sometimes. i'll shoot, the leak will go away...20 shots later it comes back...then goes away again...

second problem....the bolt seems to be stopping on my barrel sometimes. it thinks the barrel is a paintball or something, and pulls back away from it. at least that's what i think is happening. very weird...heh...

    smaller carrier

If it leaks without any stress on the trigger, drop the carrier size down one. If it's when you put a little pressure on the trigger, remove one shim. I had that issue, it actually let enough air out my mag "chuffed" because the chamber didn't have enough pressure.

And the bolt stopping on the barrel sounds like you might need a larger barrel bore. Lvl 10 bolts don't work on bores below I believe .685 so I don't know what barrel you use but that might be it.

Just for the hell of it take the bolt and barrel off the gun and make sure that there is plenty of room there should be with the barrel being an AA.

One last thing would be to make sure that your rail bushing is in place. Right now these are my only ideas.

              gun body?

What kind of body do you have on your mag? I have a micromag body and I couldn't get my LX to work because the amount of force required to move the ball detent makes the LX think that it's pinching a ball.
Primary: Black Ule Emag, Rogue Wingless Rail, X-Valve, CCM No-Rise, CP Rail Drop / on/off, Egg, 14" CP two piece, 70ci (peanut) dye throttle.

For sale: Micromag RT, Intelliframe, Egg, 12" Dye Stainless, Kapp Foregrip, 88ci Smart Parts Max-Flo 4500psi.

emag body, but it also happens with the classic body...it might be the nubbin that's the problem. i really have no idea

i may have the same prob here... buddy brought over his mag w/ lvl10 for me to toss into a retro valve. it fires fine, doesnt leak, pinches etc... with either the middle spring and a higher velocity or normal and the regular sized spring... but when i start firing faster, and by that im thinking 4-5bps it will skip shots and reset the bolt, pop pop pop pop hiss pop pop hiss pop etc...

now this is a stock trigger frame so it never shot that quickly but with a regular bolt setup the retro is noticably reactive and kicks back against your finger , with lvl 10 in it doesn't do that it seems... I've got the
                  1.5
2-3 shims, doesnt seem to matter that much
dunno input pressure but 7-850, ive adjusted a lot with no effect on this, it will always reset itself at a higher bps.
now... heres a thought, does the lvl10 require a different trigger rod length at all? maybe needs a little extra to seal that on/off?? cause its normally the full pull on this frame. I'll post this in its own thread but it may be relate to you.

I occaisionaly had the oposite problem today. When firing at very low speeds.. just 1 or 2 balls here or there [we were playing 20 ball 1vs1 tourneys] it wouldn't fire, or it'd give me a slight chuff. But if I opened up on it, the Holy light of God would shine upon me, and smite my oponents.

Overall a good lube job fixed it. It was also hotter than blazes outside..

-- As for postal's situation. I'm not Lv10 expert, but when I show off to other people how the lv10 works. It requires a bit of pressure to keep the bolt back. so I seriously doubt a Barrel Nubbin would hold your bolt back. If the bolt travels forward at all, then it has actually made it inside the barrel. The only think i could think of that would hold it back would be the Carrier O-Rings/spring combination.

If you feel you have the right size though, give them a good lube, so bolt travels a bit more freely.

Much to many's surprise, most barrels aren't drilled on center. If they're drilled slightly off center, the bolt will drag on the barrel and the bolt will only go half the stroke length or less before it stops and retracts. Try it with a stock AGD barrel and I'll bet you'll see that problem go away. Keep trying different barrels until you find one that doesn't cause that problem. If your SP barrel is aluminum, look inside of it to see if it looks like it's dragging on a certain spot.

Remove all shims from your LX setup and see if the leak goes away. If it doesn't, try a new o-ring/carrier combination. Keep trying different fits until you can hold the bolt at the top of the PT and drop it and it should come all the way down to the bumper. The looser the fit, the better. Just so long as it doesn't leak.
