Drano...let it sit for like 5 mins, take it out and wipe the black stuff off. If theres still some, put it back in the drano. then polish it with some Mothers Mag or some kinda of metal polish.

          huh?

Dont use sand paper! it just makes more work. Strip off the old ano and use a buffing weel and spend alot of time on it. It will come out really nice if you do it right.

Red Devil lye is a drain opener, it is pure sodium hydroxide. (the active ing. in drano) A bottle can be had at the grocery store for around four dollars.

lye should be added to water slowly, you wont need that much. It works best agaist paint when hot, but be careful, lye also attacks aluminum, and skin, and eyes etc....

                    please be careful..

Wear gloves, DON'T PUT THE BODY IN! It will eat at the Stainless...It'll only work for the rail and Intelliframe and VA

one question on using drano, do you leave the thing that holds the barrel in on the rail or do you hammer it out?

Do not use drano. here is why, When the rail is molded, there are small holes in the metal, the manufacturer then fills in these holes with some sort of filler. The Drano WILL EAT THIS FILLER if you leave it in too long. Your rail will come out looking worse than ever and the paint won't even all come off, it will look more faded and purple. If you leave it in there for a short time, then none of the paint will come off. Keep your rail black, if you really can't stand it, have it custom done, or just order a chrome rail.
