rail assembly question

i wanna put a vertical adapter on my mag, but on the railit seems that the place where u put the vert adapter, there is no opening for the screw, it looks like i have to drill through it or something. a

any advice is appreciated, im very confused

in the front part of the rail, theres like a small pin hole, get like a pen or something and punch it thru. dont need to drill
