    Very Odd 12v Revvy Problem...

I have a green preBE 12v Revvy that is doing an odd thing. In the bright sunlight, it will not recognize ball in the feed tube and the paddle keeps moving. I can make it stop by covering the sensors with my hand. I put a neophrene cover on it and in the sun, just the light going through the clear white cover makes the paddles spin... Has anyone seen these and knows how to fix it???

Also, what repair kit do I get for an RT PRO? I know it has certain features like the Retro Valve that goes on a standard mag and doesn't have the banjo either, so do I get a repair kit for the MAG or for the RT ???

At a tournament about a year ago, a guy with a green 12volt rev had the same problem. He couldnt figure it out, so he put some electrical tape over it and left it be. Thats the only way i know how to fix it.

Take your revy apart and paint the inside area where the eye goes with some flat black paint. This will keep light from getting to the sensor.

This was a serious problem with all non-black Revy's, which is why they came out with the sunboard. The sunboard has the delay, but does not spin in bright sunlight.

You could always purchase an X-Board and that will cure the sunlight problem along with making the Revy spin faster. www.dropzonepaintball.com sells the X-Board.

Im pretty sure this is the exact reason that they came out with the Xboard, I'm not exactly sure where I read this, but it was probably on Warpig somewhere.

I think the electrical tape is the easiest way to fix this, or you could just wait a while and buy a Halo... though that is not the cheepest alternative...

I'd go with the X-board, or paint inside the sensor area of the rev. and even the sunboard doesn't solve all your problems. I've seen a brand new clear 9V rev with the sun board spinning constantly, the X-board works better then the sunboard in that respect, and it feeds faster then the pre BE board. how can you go wrong.

            x board may not work

I've got a really old 12v revo, pre BE. I found a deal on some green shells and bought an x-board foreseeing this exact problem. I've know several people with old clear revos and VL 2000s that had this sunlight problem. Anyway, I dropped in the x-board and nothing happened. The paddles wouldn't spin at all. I put my old board back in and everything worked fine. After swapping parts from a new revo, I found that my old revo eye is not compatible with an x-board. The old board and eye work together, the new x board and new eye worked together but either combination of new eye and old board or old eye and new board didn't work. My guess is that since the x-board works by interpretting the signal from the eye and disregarding the frequency of sunlight, there are compatibility issues. If the eye and board aren't calibrated they won't work. So now as I was trying to save some money by upgrading, I'll end up buying every part to a revo individually, except for the servo.

Since no one answered your repair kit question, buy the repair kit for an RT. It has all of the replacement O-rings you will need, plus the bolt spring and wire nubbins. I have an RT Pro as well and that's what I purchased and has served me well

                Other source for info

Warpig also had an artical on this topis and how the xboard was designed to combat it.

                enjoy!
