lvl10 support

Ok I bought the new lvl 10 and installed it according to the instructions. I ahve tuned in the carrier and the o-ring so that it no longer leaks down the barrel. I can dry-fire with no problems as fast as I cna pull the trigger, but as soon as I put paint in it, one or two shots wil fire then it will burp as if stuck on paint (this is not under rapid-fire) Then a ball will only get half way in because the first ball is only half out and the lvl10 works perfectly cause it wont chop the ball.

The velocity is fire (checked it with the good shots) and it doesnt appear to be shootdown - is this problem just the paint?

You need to add shims to get the bolt to reset, as per the instructions. Add them one at a time and test it along the way. I use my finger, not paint. Some of my LX mags have no shims... my RTP valve had 4. It varies valve to valve.

My bolt resets fine when I use my finger or squeegee - I think that when the bolt comes foreward onto properly loaded paint, it thinks that the paint is not loaded correctly and stops moving forward, gives a little hiss pushing the ball 1/4 inch and resets. A seccond ball will then load in half way and then the gun wont shoot at all (lvl 10 working)

I dont think its the shims, but I will try that anyway...

try goin up a carrier size I had the same problem and it worked

Hows the paint to barrel match? A while back I bought some junk paint to test my gun with and some of the balls were so messed up that they would do exactly what you just described.

I went up one carrier and it leaked down the barrel - so that unfortunately cannot be the solution. The paint idea is what I think. Unless I pay copious amounts of money for shipping (I like in the middle of nowhere) I have to use wal-mart zap stuff. The paint I was using in the gun wasvery old, but I'm planning on trying it with some new stuff today or tomorrow (depending on work)

I only play rec ball, so spending big on good paint seems a waste anyway.....

Any other ideas please let me know

What appears to be the problem is that the way you have it setup is too soft. You didn't say what sprin you are using. Going to the next shorter spring (and re-adjusting the velocity) should help.

I'm still using my stock spring - I think I'm gonna try the next larger carrier and put in 3 shims - maybe that will work - I tried new paint in it today - and didnt work still - played with old lvl 7 bolt and still had fun, bur broke some of the old stuff I was still using....too bad for me
