    on/off assembly "popping out".

Ok, this is kind of an odd problem.

I just replaced all of the o-rings, and it is like the bottom on/off o-rings push against each other, and the assembly pops up a little. After I had gassed it up, and tested it, I went to pop the entire valve out again, and that part still had air in it, and "popped" out. The trigger was fully depressed when I opened it up. It seems to be ok, it just has that one minor oddity.

Also, I have an older On/Off valve, that has a slit on the top. Should I buy the newer style to update it?

Thanks for all of the help, once again.

it is normal for the on/off to come out a slight amount when you air it up. only about 1/16" though not much.

as for the on/off popping out when you removed the valve, make sure you are totally degassing the valve before taking it out. this does happen sometimes.

Thanks, it didn't do that before I swapped Orings, so I just wanted to confirm that it was ok.

After the gun is degassed, depressing the trigger and gently pulling the valve out of the back of the gun should allow the air/CO2 to escape out the front of the bolt. That being said, if you have an on/off ASA, the air can get trapped in the air lines between the ASA and the valve. This will put pressure on the on/off pin. Be careful. It can shoot out of the gun when you remove the valve. To be safe, you should remove the bottle from the gun or at least disconnect the air line when working on the valve.

It is normal for the on/off assembly to move down until it contacts the body when you apply air to the valve.

The older on/off top should be fine unless you are experiencing trouble with shoot down. The newer tops prevent you from putting it in upside down. If you are getting new parts from AGD, it wouldn't hurt to get the new top, but I wouldn't order it by itself.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I just screw in the HPA tank. I pulled it off yesterday, hit the trigger, one more time, for good measure, then poped the screw out the bottom, undid the release on the side of my gun (it is a Minimag), and basically, the on/off assembly kind of half pops out, and the bolt goes flying off, up into the gun. This all happens as I am first taking the gun apart, not later, so all the parts remain in the gun, and not spewed all over. But, it sounds like this is basically normal. thanks!
