Should i upgrade anything on a Automag RT/Pro

I am completely new to mags and just registered to AO this week. I havent bought my mag yet but i am going to buy a Automag RT/Pro. I have a question......

On a Automag RT/Pro should i buy a new barrel?
Should i upgrade anything else?

Well like Breg said all those things are nice. I might categorize it into priority.

1st get a tank. if you don't have air (HPA only), it doesn't matter what you have. any tank will work for your RT but I would suggest a 68ci tank or larger as the mags are not the MOST efficient airguns. They are not bad either but a 48ci tank is pretty small... As for adjustable vs. preset, I like adjustable better but you may pay 3x as much for a good one. Your descision.

2nd you will need some form a motorized hopper. people will have their various opinions but at least get a 9volt Revy (12v is better). The Ricochet, Halo or Warp+one of those are also popular but again that's your call.

3rd (and probably the single best investment in your RT) GET THE LVL 10 SETUP. It really does an amazing job on the Automags. My RT used to be a paintblender if I started rapidfiring; with the lvl 10 I just get to rip off the shots and look cool . It does take a bit of tweaking and you may need to read some of the posts on LVL 10 fine tuning, but by far it is worth every penny.

4th a new barrel. Though the RT barrel is not bad, I find that the crown tip (which can be unscrewed) tends to break balls. The "right" barrel is even more of a debatable topic than HPA tanks but suffices to say that CPC, Smart Parts, Lapco and I would include J&J make nice barrels. Again people will debate and that's fine. The best way is to find a fellow Mag shooter and ask to try some barrels. Find one that works for you.

5th there are a number of things you can do that get pricey real fast but do help a little. The ULE aluminum body and the Xvalve would be nice if you did not spend another $300 on them. They will not help mechanically, they simply make the RT lighter so keep that in mind. Now having said that, I plan to get one for my RT Pro... eventually.

If you buy a new RTPro, they come with an X-valve and a Level 10. All you'd need is an HPA tank, motorized loader, and barrel kit. (get something with interchangable bores. Like the Scepter or Freak)

Unless you have one of Doc Nickel's Adapters or one of the ULE bodies, the Scepter won't work b/c it's cocker threaded.

Thanks everyone for your support, i have a 12 Volt Revolution, i know the Automag RT/Pro comes with Level 10, and I am buying a Crossfire 88ci 4500 PSI HPA Tank, so thats not a problem, and with the barrel i am gonna upgrade then......
