A ReTro Valve, a Drill Press, and a Dream...

OK, with all of this ULE trigger talk of late, I've decided that I want to try to drill out my ReTro Valve to accept the 2-oring setup and thus the ULE trigger.

I have a couple of questions:
    1. Does anyone have any suggestions on what type of drill bit to use to remove the required amount of stainless steel, yet produce a flat bottom of the on/off hole.

If you look closely, you will see that the bottom of the On/Off hole appears to be square to the sides, meaning they meet at a 90* angle (approximately). Most drill bits are sloped and provide a sloped bottom.

    2. What type of bit would be needed to cleanly remove the stainless steel? I'm not up to speed on metal working, as I work mostly in wood.

It looks like I would only need to take out an amount of material equal to the height of the on/off o-rings. I can't imagine it would be difficult given the proper bit in the press.

    Thanks ~ Dave

PS - If anyone who is in the know would care to shed some light on the subject, I would like to know why there are different styles of on/off holes, some using one o-ring, while others use two.

I know on the Emag valve that they did it at #1000. (Change from 1 oring to two). From what I read, it solves a technical problem- possibly a flow or friction problem.

I don't know what size it is, but End mill bit would work if they have the right diameter. would not recommend drill bit at all.
