the problems are ALMOST over...weird barrel leakage and gas INefficiency..

ok ill put it out very simply...

problem 1: my 20oz. tank gave me less than 500 shots. are all mags this bad on gas or is it just me? i have an expansion chamber leading to a stabilizer so you would think i'd get more shots not less...

problem 2(the biggie): when i have my barrel off of the gun, no leaks whatsoever. it's almost perfect. i put my AA on, and if i turn it as far is it'll go, it starts leaking. if i don't turn it as far as it'll go, the bolt frequently senses resistance from something. oh and if there are paintballs in the breech, the leak is stopped up. i also noticed, and this might have just been coincidence, that the bolt starts performing horribly when the tank gets low on gas. the leak also might only occur when the tank is low, i'm not entirely sure.

i was just about ready to post that my gun has finally been completed. no more problems or anything. i think these two are going to be the last two though. so let's get these solved, and my gun will finally be...PROBLEM FREE!

are you sure you are getting full fills in the 20 oz tank..........if so that is worse efficiency than a shocker...lol

as for the leak, why are you turning it "up as far as it will go"? what is it chronoing at this point? it is prolly leaking becuase you have the pressure turned up too far! if it fires fine at 300 FPS, why turn it up more? if you dont know what it is firing at, then you have no idea where the pressure is at. you need to chrono it. (this might also be the key to your efficiency problems. reg turned up too far!) also, are you 100% sure you are not getting ANY liquid co2 into the valve? if you are, then I am not surprised at all that it will start to leak. liquid co2 in a mag will cause a leak like nothing else.

as for the bolt acting wierd when it is almost out of gas......that is normal, just refill your tank.

First off, some details of your setup would be helpful

It sounds as though you have a Level 10 Mag?

If not this is way off but....

A L10 Mag will stop shooting around 400-500psi which would cause much of your trouble as a CO2 tank runs down.As well as less shots, especially on a less than full fill.(Many places underfill purposely as a precaution to younger kids not handling their tanks properly.

As far as the barrel causing a leak,if I understood you right, If fully screwed in and is putting pressure on a L10 Bolt/valve will often cause a leak. You may need a tighter carrier/o-ring or find out if the barrel is screwing farther in than it should. If so maybe an oring on the barrel would help space it out farther.(ULE I'm assuming)

yes it's a level 10 mag...emag body though, not ule.

xen: when i said turn it all the way i meant the barrel (i turn it all the way to the right). i am chronoed in around 285.

fireblade: yes you're right about what i meant about the barrel. however, the thing is that the bolt doesn't leak at all with the barrel off. so doesn't that mean my o-ring carrier is the right one?

          ok, got ya.......just mis-understood.

ya, that would mean it is the right setup. do you have another barrel you could try? maybe the bolt is hitting this one somehow. does it wobble at all? can you hold the barrel in a certain position and get it to fire normally?

Probaly, It seems as though the barrel may be touching the bolt or putting pressure on the valve body when inserted.Try putting some grease or something on the front of the bolt and then put the barrel in and see if any grease is transfered to the barrel when removed. If not,the barrel may be "torqing" the frame enough to put pressure on the valve causing a leak. The only fix other than a different barrel would be to tighten up the oring to carrier fit or find out why the barrel is causing the pressure.Probaly related to the twistlock ***.( may by hard to figure out on your own)

well...there's two ways to stop the leak and still have it shoot..#1...have paint in the gun (it prolly still leaks, but i just can't hear it at all...although the balls may stop the leak up). #2...twist the barrel back towards the center more (it stops leaking eventually, but then balls can't fit through the hole). i dunno why i'm having problems..it's a damn all american barrel. and ya i was thinking about trying my ****ty stealth barrel but the idiots didn't cut the barrel to fit both powerfeed left and right lol...*sigh*.

                Well,
If it works and it's a small leak, just deal with it I guess.

I had a cocker once that you could hear a leak down the barrel no matter what I did.I left the tank screwed in for like 3 days and it barely lost any air so I left it that way till I sold it.:)

                Oh well,
