I've been pondering upgrading my body to a ULE, plus sticking an evlution 2 on it. (What is it with paintballers refusing to spell anything correctly?)
However... I have a question regarding the feed tube and feed rates. I realize that the longer feed tube sort of acts as a "ball buffer" of balls ready drop in and fire, but how long of a buffer is adequate or necessary? (Particularly considering no powerfeed to reduce the effects of blowback.)
The reason I ask is because I can see possibly cutting down the feed tube, at least on the evlution, so that the loader eventually sits right on top of the marker. Maybe I could not even rely on the feed tube itself to keep the loader on the marker; perhaps I could attach the loader right onto the ULE itself, sort of like attaching a sight to a gun with the dovetailing on it. Of course... the ULE's obviously don't have the dovetailing...
So basically, is the loader going to be able to hold its own with a shortened ball buffer under it.
I think if this were possible, it'd make a pretty nice reduction on the profile of the gun.
