    Remote line

What I want to do, is get a 3'-4' steel braided hose, coil it up (coiled like a snake, about 6" in diameter), quick-tie it, and affix it to my marker. I'll figure out the exacts of how I will do that when I do it.

Lots of surface area means heat energy can be absorbed into an uncoiled remote line, but if I had it all coiled up (reducing surface area), would I lose the liquid-evaporating qualities of a remote line because it would get cold?

Would there be any other problems that I am not forseeing? Would I be better off just buying an expansion chamber?

    my 0.02 cents

I would expect there to be some reduction in the in the amount of time it would take to freeze the line... but, I don't think it would be that noticable unless you were sustaining a high rate of fire over a long period of time.

By using a coil vs a straight length of hose two things will happen.

The first is that the coils will be in contact with each other allowing them to conduct cold from a cooler part of the hose to a warmer part of the hose. This may or may not be a good thing... The area of contact between the coils will be pretty small so the thermal path is not the greatest.

The other thing that will happen is that your reduce the amount of air volume around the hose that can warm the hose up. But since you are moving around hile playing I would expect increased airflow around the hose providing a constant flow of warm air.

Personally I would think hauling around a coil of SS hose on the side of your gun would be a bit annoying. Besides, you cannot annodize it like all the cool kids are doing.

Yeah, I am gonna worry about the ergonomics of it later. I just wanted to make sure that it would help my performance.
