    Horrible Recharge Problem-Classic Mag

I have a Classic Mag that I bought used from a guy that played at my field. It worked fine when he used it but when I bought it, it started. First it was just slight shootdown. So I oiled the gun up alittle, bought a reactor valve, drilled more holes in the back part that screws off, and the problem went away for a few games. Then recently it has just gotten worse it takes about 30-45 seconds to fully recharge from each shot. It isn't the tank, because I used the tank on a few other guns and it was fine. Someone help me out.

Well, the reactor valve is part of your problem. They DO NOTHING except make your wallet lighter. I'd say it's time to look at the reg pin and reg seat. Make sure they're in good shape.

They are fine. Could it be the lines from my bottle adapter to my valve? Because it goes through two 90 degree elbows, macroline, a gas through foregrip, another 90 degree elbow, another peice of macroline and another 90 degree elbow....I was thinking about just running a huge peice of macroline from the bottle adapter to the valve with one elbow.

        Give that a shot, but I don't think that's a problem...

What kind of tank? is it CO2 or N2?

You can try running one piece of macro from the ASA (assuming it's a screw in) to the valve. But with shootdown issues, 9 times out of 10, it's the reg seat/reg seat oring.

Well, how can I tell that either one of those are bad, they seem fine.

Try a different tank. I have no faith in Nitro Duck tanks so I'd make sure that your tank hasn't pinched off the flow.

The reg. seat should be .130" in thickness. If it's any above this, it will start cutting off flow. Replacing it is the best thing to do. Pull the reg. valve pin out and make sure no dirt is caught up in the spring. Also, take off the reg. valve body and push the piston out after removing the spring pack and the velocity adjuster nut. Clean the piston up and put some oil on the o-ring.

One other thing... I would check to make sure that you put the spring pack in the correct direction. The newer ones can go in two ways and if it's the wrong way, it will cut off the flow rate. The end with the washer should point towards the spring pack. The other end will have a smaller diameter end to it and that points away from the piston.

Well I have used different tanks and it does the same thing. I will try that and let you know.

you said you drilled holes on the back part of the valve, right? are you 100% sure you didn't get any shavings in the reg piston bore? if there is a little bit of metal hanging the reg piston closed, it will recharge really slow.

No, I used a 150 PSI compressor air pump through it for like 10 minutes, in every which way possible.
