New Mag Owner : Advise Please :)

Hiya guys, i just bought myself a mag (like 1 hour ago) Online... I'm waiting for it to arrive, should be here friday. So untill then i have a pic of it.... could you guys give me ideas of upgrade options , what i could do with it in terms of performance etc.. and more importantly what YOU would do with it

I'm a flashy bastard, so i'm gonna get a new double trigger frame and a site rail on it, but please give me your input. I'm an experienced Spyder user, but as i said, newbie with automags =]

    Cheers

    Neil

The pic should appear...if not, its here

Nice looking gun! I would suggest adding HPA (if you don't allready have it, that is) and a revy. After that I say just shoot the gun as it is for a while. The Mags' trigger gets some getting used to. Learn it. Then there's the intelliframe (or a HyperFrame), Retro Valve and a Warp Feed! Good Luck.

      ..here i go...

      Thanx Russ

i was considering putting it on Air, as i here the mag has problems when firing real fast to freeze up a bit on C02....even more so in cold weather...

....also guys, could you tell me what type of automag it is (/me gets ready for the flames) i can't tell the diff between classic, 68 and RT....any clues?? and what should i look for ...

      thanx

It is a hopper-left, power feed mag, I have one just like it sitting in my lap right now, I even have the same color wood grip panels! It is hard to tell what the barrel is from the picture, but maybe an All American? Looks like a good first mag. You will learn to love the simplicity of a mag(especially as a former spyder owner), you can field stirp it and replace every o-ring and seal in it in under 15 minutes once you are comfortable with it. Visit the AGD website and register your mag once it arrives, and if it doesn't come with the video or manual, just ask AGD for them. AGD will send them to you for free! The manual is available on their website in pdf format if you want to download it and start learning your mag right away. Welcome to AO!

The best thing to do is get yourself one of the new crossfire screw in HPA tanks. To be honest that is all you need to get some great days play with your new gun. (oh and an agitating loader).

After a while of using it like that then think about adding other features such as grip frames etc. The Intelliframe with blade trigger in shiney black would go very well with that gadget grip...

                Ta Monkey!

                Hiya

                Wayyheeyy another Brit

anyways thanx for the tips lads... the main problem for me is that there is only one local site that only runs on C02.

If i was to hook up HPA, would Diving shops be able to fill the tank for me?

Also if i was to add HPA, what would i need apart from the tank? Would i need another reg, chamber etc?

                    Hiya

i've changed me details now for ya

i play on the Isle Of Man (crap) and marshall at my local site

Ermm...been balling about a year now and i maybe willing to start travelling a bit more and going to tournies etc soonish...

Back to the gun... I think i may leave the air for now, untill i learn more about the local shops, and maybe get a few more mates on Air, so then we can all chip in for the tank

                    Ta

                      Air

I highly reccomend going with HPA. If you can get a Pure Energy with the Luxfer bottle you won't have to have it hydroed as often (evey five instead of three years). Even a 48 steel will give you alot of shots. I use a 68 flatline and can shoot more paint than I need to before a fill.

As far as fills you might try the fire department. They could cobble together a fill adapter pretty easy to use the SCBA bottles all you would need is a quick connect and a bleed valve.

I bought a used fill station for $10, had a small leak easily fixed and a used tank for $50. With HPA you won't have any worries about liquid CO2 or shoot down.
