i heard about this trigger mod all over, and i never really figured out what it was. how does it work and what does it do? will it do any good on a classic?

at this point, this is probably the best thread for you to read.
since its introduction at IAO, there have been misc informational threads that have popped up, but check this one with updates direct from tom kaye.
in answer to your question, it will work with the classic valve, you will not achieve the desired results (more chuffing/short stroking)
