input pressure - more efficient?

I've noticed that the input pressure on RT's and Emags are supposed to be from 600 to 1000 PSI, my tank's reg is set at 850, would i see any benefits from lowering this down to say 700 - 750?

I'm thinking that i would get more shots, since i would be able to shoot the tank down to 700 psi without having a drop off in velocity. But then again, i would probably have to turn the velocity adjuster on the gun up to compensate for the loss in pressure, and this might use the same amount of air.

Has anyone experimented with this? I'm looking to really stretch my air efficiency inbetween fills.

Lower pressure = more volume. Same amount of air roughly.

You need an X amount of energy to propel the ball at 300fps... using some balance of pressure/volume.

On a similar note, would shooting at 280 instead of 300, or even 320 give you a decent amount of gas savings?

I mean, if its like 10-20 shots per tank, then its not even worth it, but if you could get another 50-100, thats not a bad price to pay for slightly slower balls.

On a 68ci tank you would get about 30 more shots per tank for each 100 psi of lower input pressure that you operate at. Beware though. Lowering the input pressure reduces the charge rate of the mag valves.

You will see a benefit in gas consumption if you lower the fps velocity. I am unsure of the exact benefit though.
