    Maxflow Screwing into tank question

OK before u flame for me buy an SP produst i ordered it last week before i knew about all this and i wouldnt have if i had known sooner.

ok anyway i ordered the MaxFlo from PBG the reg came in its box and the tank came taped to the box all i was wondering id if i should put thread tape or Loktite on the threads that screw into the tank. Im guessing that since it has a Sealing oring on it and that under such high presure the threads would push against each other enuf to seal it and not allow for it to unscrew while playing. i was also afraid that if i put loktite or thread tape on it that it would get into the reg when it is Aired up and cause the reg to mess up. So if you would tell me what is the thing to do???

how odd... you got your reg and tank separate as in you have to screw them together?

If that is the case I would use teflon tape and perhaps just a tiny bit of locktight on the end of the reg (REALLY tiny). I too have a SP tank (purchased 2 years ago so I am ok there) and another one I got 3 weeks ago (INNOCENT!). Both came as a complete ready to use tank though...

I dont think you should use tape, only locktight!! tape will make the tank VERY easy to unscrew and you dont want that. you want it as hard to unscrew as possible within reason and wait a day or 2 to let the locktight dry throughly before you air it up

perhpas but a combo of both seems best. the thread is quite long into the tank and the iner half could have a bit of locktight on it (red or blue I suppose) while the teflon can be put on the outer half as it does an excellent job of making an airtight seal. Just my opinion however, you do what you want.

with my experience with the two Loctite seals better then tape and it would make it hard to remove so i belive that ill loctite it im gonna use the blue medium strength tho i dont want it to be impossible to remove
this is what came with the tank wraped in plastic and taped to the box it was in.
