thank you for the sarcastic remark please dont do that again, i simply didnt know if it was possible, i thought maybe it would work like a nonfoamie bolt but since it was not explained to me why it wouldnt work why wont it?

Yes a foamie will work without foam, no it will not break paint.

i run a foamie in my RT without the foam and have yet ot have a paint breaking problem

            Fomie vs Fomieless

Depends on the bolt I bought a A.N.S venturi and it came with two small round fomies and after both of them got used I haven't replaced either one and still no broken paint

If you do not want to mess with a foamie on your bolt why bother running a bolt designed to have a foamie on it? Why not just run a standard Mag bolt? In both the standard mag bolt and the AGD foamie bolt there is a piece in the front center of the bolt setup to contact and push the center of the paintball as the marker is fired. With the standard bolt this is a rounded out piece of metal that comes up flush with the front of the bolt and with the foamie this is the foamie itself that is mounted to a recessed bracing that sits about a quarter inch behind the face of the bolt. A foamie bolt without the foamie will only have the outside ring of the bolt making contact with the paintball and should therefore not have as uniform a contact as you would get either by using a foamie or by using a standard bolt. Uniform contact = less chance of breaking balls.

sorry dude, couldnt resist. as far as the foamie goes the reason it was put on the bolt was to cushion the paintball. i used to break paint with the extended nose bolt in my minimag and switched back to a foamie bolt, works great havent broken any since. easiest way to replace one is to soak bolt in rubbing alcohol for a couple of mins., wipe off let dry, scrape any old glue off(with knife tip etc..), and most important, put super glue (gel works best) on y of bolt and place fomie on, hold for a couple secs and you should be good to go. i dont recommend applying glue to foamie as it may get stuck to your fingers, this wastes the foamie and gives your buddies a reason to give you a hard time, trust me! hope this helps!

yeah! unfortunately they dont last forever, i would go to your local pball proprietor and get 2/3 and put them in your tool/parts kit. they used to come in the auto/minimag parts kit or send AGD a line and get a few from them.
