x-mag : preset regulator or adjustable reg. ?

hey

I'd like to know wath's the best way to go for an X-mag?
a preset regulator (800-850 output ) or an adjustable reg.

and what output do I have to set it ( the x-mag manual says between 600 and 1000 psi)

any opinions ?
