A clinking noise from my mag....

    Hello all,
I recently took the valve out of my mag, and put it back in.
I dont know if this clinking noise was there before, but I noticed it while firing a couple of blank shots. There is a clinking noise every time I pull the trigger. Could it have anything to do with my Nitro running out?

    A simple test...

Try grabbing and holding your barrel while firing a shot, then try a shot without holding it. If holding the barrel eliminates the clinking, then what you are hearing is what I thing they call "bolt ping," it's a natural occurence with mags. The level and pitch of the ping varies with different barrels.

Unfortunately, I ran out of air.
So, would you think that there is anything wrong with the gun?

          Arman/XPM...

It is hard to tell at this point, get some air and do the test I was reffering to in my previous post, if it works then there is nothing wrong with your gun. As I said, this is a natural occurence with Mags.

if it turns out this is the problem, put an old o-ring around the tip of your barrel, we used to do this with the old crown point barrel. it looks funny but it works.

i think i hear the same thing you do sometimes. but if you have someone else shoot your gun and you stand 5-10 feet away you will notice that you cannot hear it.

if there was a bit of a lag after you let go of the trigger and then it clicks it's probably just your tank getting low. or it may just be bolt ping. try it with some gas and let us know if you still have a problem.

                      Superbolt ping?

Does anyone here with experience with the Superbolt hear the bolt ping? Is it quieter?

                      Just wondering.
