Classic Valve + .215 spacer = Leak down the barrel???

    What?!
This valve seems fairly old but to tell you the truth I cant tell because the s/n is polished off. Yes, thats right the whole valve is polished down. There is an 8 hole mod and everything, there was an aftermarket on/off in it when I got it. O well, down to business, it has a shortnose bolt (the one with the longer nose I think thats how it works) and it came with a black bumper.. its the exact same size as a blue one only a little softer. Anyway I replaced that with a blue one. I also replaced the on/off, reg seat, and just about any other oring I could find. Now back to the power tube. I bought a spacer kit and ive tried every spacer and this thing just keeps leaking!!! Ive tried multiple orings and ive tried oiling it. Occasionally the bolt will go forward like it was going to fire but it doesnt go forward all the way and it just kinda sputters. Ive tried cranking up the velocity until it vented out the back. I'm starting to think its the power tube tip. Its the old kind that isnt tapered. Do I have to replace this or what if I kept shaving down the power tube spacer with say a dremel? I guess its worth a try sence I have about 3 .215 spacers...
    Some input guys?

Have you tried replacing the sear?
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Have you tried a different bolt and maybe a new bolt spring?

I would try a diffrent bolt if I had one and i've tried the bolt spring, about 5 diffrent ones all leak.

Don't suppose you have a power tube spring laying around do you? If so throw that in instead of a spacer and see if you still have a leak.

                  Its an AGD kit.
I have a spare spacer from my old automag, this one, and then I have the new one that came in the spacer kit so I gueess it shouldnt be bad if I screw one up

Take a squeegee and push down on the bolt with it. If you can get it to stop leaking by doing that then it's not an issue with the bolt. You either need a new bolt spring, shorter spacer or a different PT tip.

If it doesn't stop leaking after pressing in on the bolt, your bolt or the PT o-ring are bad.

It stopped when I pushed down on it. I think its the power tube tip because it is the old untapered one.. should I just go ahead and buy a new one of those or try to shave down an xtra spacer I have. Ive replaced the bolt spring with many new ones and it doesnt really work.

I would shave down the PT spacer a bit. Get it to .210" and try that.

I'm too poor to own calipers
I think a friend across the street might have a few, but I'm not sure if there calipers
How about I shave until I feel like stopping?
No I'll just try to mesure the diffrence between two other spacers and compare them.. bah I hope it works..

This may sound funny but try a larger pt spacer. My retro valve had a bad barrel leak, when I tried smaller spacers it still leaked, tried larger ones and it worked.

                            just a thought

I tihnk I already have tried larger spacers but I guess I'll try it again.
