Ok, I got hold of a classic 68 - put in an X valve and ULE body (LX if it matters is #1 carrier, 2 shims). Anyways, when I go to dissassemble the X valve will not come out of the body (like I'm not pressing the trigger, even though I am). The on-off pin seizes in the body. Because Im worried about breaking the pin I just take off the body and press the pin in when the body is off. Now, just because I'm too lazy to remove that one extra screw everytime I take the valve off, am I doing something wrong or is this part of life?

Just pull the trigger once and it should let the valve out of the body. If this doesn't work then I don't know what is wrong. -
Leave your valve out and pull the trigger. Is the on/off part of the sear flush with the in side of the body? If not put the valve in and gas it up. Do you have between the trigger and trigger rod a gap bigger than credit card? If there is too much of a gap you could adjust the trigger rod to the point you can slip a match book cover between them(this is the only time I had to mess with my trigger rod). Your looking to get the sear to be flush with the inside of the body when the trigger is pulled.Comment
