    Tank got back from hydro

My tank got back from hydro at Hydrotesters.com. Anyway...the reg isn't screwed onto the gun. How much red-loctite do I put at the bottom of the threads of the regulator to screw back onto the tank? Thanks

just a drop or 2. but put it onn the begining of the threads. (not near the reg) that should do it.

Try blue-loctite so you can get it apart if you need to.

I was under the impression that loctite 545 should be used which is a phnumatic thread sealer, not a locker, along with a certain amount of torque to hold it on, as thread lockers could damage the threads next time you need a hydro.

yea you need a sealer, not lock i believe. I do know that you should Not use red or blue.

i've had this arguement with people here before, but im gunna give my opinion again....

as a PTI trained Master Air Tech, I say that you put one ring of RED (242) Loctite on the reg screws. The only thing that matters about where is that it is BELOW the vent hole in the threads. (if the reg starts to unscrew, you want it to vent pressure).

I know some here will tell you to NOT put loctite on, however, that is what I was trained to do (by Bob McGuire of all people) and that is what I did at the field, and never had a problem
