Common xmag problem? Solenoid plungers bent... How to prevent.

I've read many threads from xmag owners who haven't even TOUCHED the gun and a solenoid plunger was bent. This is a little scary. It sounds like a real annoying problem that colud end a day of playing fairly easily.

Is there a way to prevent this? WHy do they bend if you don't even open the grip frame? Doensn't AGD grease them from the factory?

You're thinking about it in the wrong way.

They don't just tweak out of shape at some inopportune moment. It's a gradual thing. To prevent this, just make sure everything moves smoothly by taking off the left grip panel and lifting up on the solenoid plunger arm. The sear should drop right back down. Just moving it back and forth with your finger should feel smooth. If it feels like it's dragging, it needs to be slightly tweaked.

This usually only starts to appear after tens of thousands of shots.

Grease or oil on the plunger = Bad. Just pull it out once a month or so and wipe it down with a rag to clean off the bit of brass that rubs onto the plunger.

I never had that problem. Mine just went into meltdown mode.

The ACE board had a flaw somewhere. I originally had the problem at the Megameet and thought it solved itself.

Then at the IAO, we're about 10 seconds before starting the game and I see smoke pouring out of the ACE adjuster and the grip frame gets hot. Solenoid siezed.

It's all better now. Turns out the ACE board as I said had a flaw and that's why things got FUBAR'd.
