    Got 2 tanks hydo'd

Had 'em done by the dive shop that I also bought my SCUBA's from. They charged me $21 each, no tax. Turn-around time, 1 day

I had to remove the bottles from the regs. They refuse to do it (they broke a reg before, and don't want the hassle)

How did you go about removing the regulators and what type of tanks are they? I'm building a Flatline reg. removal tool right now and I'm going to set it up on a torque wrench so I can quickly torque them back to spec.

One system was a 68/3000 Flatline, The other was a 4500 Flatline (which had a different bottle than I bought with it, an 88/4500 Pure Energy "stub")

I remove all the gauges & nipples, then hold the reg in bored aluminum jaws in a big-arse lathe (at work) The lathe jaws are bored to the diameter of the regs.

I then use a strap wrench to un-screw the bottle. A strip of emery paper, abrasive side OUT (away from the bottle), helps the strap wrench grip.

I have 3 air systems (2 Flatlines, & a Mac-Dev Conquest) I only put a little Dow33 on the threads, because I play "musical bottles" with the air systems...

The conquest carries the ACI-AGD 68/4500 that was came with the Flatline, And the Conquest's long 88/4500 is on my Son's friend's PE preset (a bit of red loctite went on those threads) The Stub 88/4500 PE bottle is now on he 4500 Flatline (on my E-Mag) The 68/3000 Flatline is as it was shipped from the factory

...and just to add, I'm not a certified airsmith, nor do I nessessarily advocate the use of grease on the threads (although the Mac-Dev Conquest came that way from the factory...the bottle was easily removable).

Don't try this at home, your results may vary, yada, yada.
