    Stupid X-valve question

Ok... here it is, its been bugging me for a few weeks but I have been hesitant to ask. My X-valve, as opposed to my classic valve, has an entirely different on-off assembly. The on-off assembly seems to be held in by a brass piece tha goes across (sorry for not getting pictures) - it appears I could sneak a small flat screwdriver underthis - would it pry out? Im just really currious about this and is it normal?

The on off just pulls straight out. you can use your fingers. The on off is different from the classic valve, this is normal. thanks for your reply to my question earlier

I usually can get it out with my fingers, but if not I use a small flat head screw driver. Just be careful when prying on it.
