    ULT and Trigger Stops...

    Hello all!

I want to know a definitive answer on the ULT and trigger stops...

I have my ULT now, and I love it! Playing with it I notice it only requires a small amount of trigger pressure to fire the marker. AKA lightened trigger... So yes it works.

But what I am really getting at, is if it only requires a few millimeters (very small amout) of travel on the Blade Trigger of my Y-Grip, the rest of the trigger travel to the frame seems wasted. I honestly can fire the marker without pulling the trigger all the way back.

Soooo, what stops me from installing a set screw in the frame behind the trigger to act as a stop to remove the distance required to fire the ULT? I understand short stroking by too short of a trigger pull etc, but it seem painfully obvious to me now that the full swing is nto required.

Am I missing something, or can I install a trigger stop and not worry about anything negative happening to my marker?

Thank you all for your time,

You sjould just be able to install a trigger stop. I cant see there being any detrimental affct on the marker.

However i would suggest putting you trigger stop in the grip frame, so the the set screw would but up against the back of your sear. You can lock tight it right in and there is less of a chance that you will have it back out.

It is really easy to do, just take off your grips, and drill o small hole in the back of you rgrip frame stright towards the joint where the sear and the Pin meet. Then tap it to the desired size threads.

Put in the set screw and screw it in until you cant fire the marker any more. Slowly back the screw out firing the gun with every slight turn until the marker shoots, that is where the screw needs to be lock tighted in. Viola!

The reason why i suggest doing it this way as opposed to putting it in your trigger is because there are Nppl rules that prohibit the tampering of your trigger and blah blah blah, so this way you dont have to worry about anything if you play in a tournament.

Just remember, on a mechanical trigger, you need a certain amount of post travel on the trigger to make sure everything is clear and out of the way (bolt & sear, etc.)

There's nothing wrong with a trigger stop, but you need a bit of travel after the fire point.

        THANK YOU!

        Hey all!

Thank you for the advice Zippy and Dayspring! I will take your suggestion to heart. I think I need a little more info on the placement of the Trigger Stop. Possibly a diagram or picture? It sounds like you are reffering to inside the trigger frame where it will be covered by the grips, and it prevents the sear from moving all the way back? I don't think that is what you meant, I feel maybe you meant in the frame behind the trigger, so when the trigger is pulled back, it butts up against the the set screw? I do admit an invisible trigger stop would be dead sexy...

And yes I hope to play Tournaments when I get back to the states next year, so what do I need to know about trigger mods and rules?

        Thanks all!
