Inline reg leak.. teflon wont stop it!

Ugh.. why can't anything work for me?!

Just bought an 'ergo' reg (it was cheap...), and it will NOT stop leaking from the 'plug' type thing where the set screw goes in. I wrapped it in teflon for a good 4 turns counter clock wise.. yet it still leaks.... any idea on what to do?

Although it should definitley work with teflon tape, see if there are any small cracks down the side. If not go pick up some green locktight if not red. That should take care of the problem.

Your threads might be stripped... probably the reason the person sold it for cheap.

Try getting a Dental Tool thingy and scraping out any foriegn matter... metal shavings etc, then re-teflon the fitting with good stuff - Teflon Thread Seal (pink clay stuff that works better than the paper thin white junk). If that doesnt work, turn to Locktiting the fitting in there.

plus, i got it already... put a new set screw in and it worked fine.
