Did you turn the velocity up on the 2.0?

ok..i have this curse you see...when i'm at home just shooting around, the gun works perfectly. when i go to chrono the gun, it works perfectly. when i step on the field and hit the first bunker, IT DOESNT WORK. this has happened to me like...50 times easy. every time it starts chuffing too...the 2.0 was originally fine tuned at around 290-300, and worked fine...that lasted like a day at most...then it started chuff chuff chuffing...cranked up the velocity..still was a pain in the *** at 313...went to a field today that required 280fps...so it REALLY chuffed....switched to 2.5...worked fine...still chuffed but not *as* much....but i had like...5 breaks, and multiple times where the gun would shoot multiple balls....i swear to god i have the worst luck in the world with my gun. i have played about 10-15 different days with this gun, and it has YET TO BEHAVE. it frustrates me so much cuz i know what to do, i've sunk so much money and tiem and effort and frustration into it, that it just should work to even the score.

i'm off to college in a few days so i won't be playing for a while, but i really don't wanna have to sell this gun and lose like >$300 on it. plus all that energy wasted. you guys've been pretty patient with me up until now....i know all mags aren't this damn moody...so....let's figure this out so i can stop posting on this goddamn tech forum.

        What mainspring are you using?

If you can't get the velocity to come down go to a smaller spring, and if your using the smallest one already, well... I hope someone else can give you better advice then

I had the same problem. Couldn't get my gun to get below 300 FPS no matter the carrier/oring. I ended up having to use the small mainspring and that got it working good. Hopefully yours will be just as easy.
Hey Zero, how much did that Chipley cost ya?

            Do as Koosh said.

The longer the spring the softer it will be on paint. Too long and you will chuff. If you put in the small one and it is too hard on paint cut your longest spring so its is in between the med and short. Go up on your carrier untill it leaks then down one size. Same thing with your shims, add till it leaks then take one out.

Sounds to me like your barrel might be a bit out of round. If the barrel isn't drilled concentric, it will drag the bolt and give you "chuffing".

Try some different barrels and go to the smallest spring.

black- that's what i was thinking...

taw- about shims...i have it down to one shim...the more shims you put in the more sensitive it is...same with oring carrier size...the smaller, the more sensitive. so wouldn't i wanna increase oring carrier size and decrease amount of shims? i can't get it any lower than one shim.. :-/

ps- if this is incorrect, plz tell me what shims do..

Shims control where it vents on the forward stroke if it pinches a ball. Basically you don't need any unless it will pinch a ball, and not vent any air.
Sadly the mag is gone, moved on to an LCD Trix
