If I am running a standard X-valve with compressed air, about how many shots would i get out of a 48ci 3000psi tank?

After the level 10 oring breaks in ans you switch to the next larger carrier and running the middle spring I would expect at least 500. With a 60/3000 and running the longest spring in my eMag I can get at least 850.

Next SMALLER carrier. He goes bigger, he'll leak.

I have a 48/3000 flatline, I would say I get about 500 easy with it.

No, actually, I do mean bigger. Once the oring has broken in it doesn't need as much static pressure to seal. That's what I have found in every level 10 I've done.

But a symptom of it breaking in is leaking. By going to a bigger carrier, that inner diameter will open up and leak worse.

I've never had one leak because it is breaking in. Only because it needed oil. cphillip (or BlackVCG, I can't remember) first posted about going larger after break in. You can always wait until after break in and "retune" the carrier.
