    Level 10 prob

Well, I searched through the official LX problems thread as well as running a search for it, but I couldn't find the answer I need.

I've also posted in the LX prob thread, and haven't gotten a response, so I'll post here. N E wayz.

I have this exact same problem. This would occur with 3 out of every 4 shots, leading to a very un-productive game and a lot of being eliminated due to misfires. Also, each time the gun wouldn't fire at all, for some reason, turning off my air then turning it back on would help.

Something else I found to be wierd was that the LX came with a standard sized spring, and both a red one and a grey one that were the same length, but none in-between.

This is quite frustrating as I spent $80 for it and I can't even get it to work! Any help would be appreciated.

[side note: I am using the 1.5 spacer(largest that doesn't leak), 2 shims(3 leak) and the red spring(though the grey would work exactly the same, I'm sure)]

If you have on off liek I do, make sure that you turn all the way on. since I have similar symtomps before.
or make sure that the output from your tank is high enough (for example may be a broken reg or whatnot). you can try this by using ther tank from your friend.
and how about turning the pressure up?
Mine would not work with pressure uped since it would leak. in that case we just have to get a new reg that has been set to take higher pressure needed to operate lx properly with longer spring.

It sounds like you are tuned to be too soft. You need to move to a lighter spring. Try the shortest spring and see if the gun cycles properly for you. Once that is determined and the gun is made to fire consistently, then you can move to the next stiffer long spring to lighten the bolt impact force.

There are three springs in the kit. The shortest spring is the same as the regular bolt spring. It will still give you a nice light bolt pressure. The two longer springs are two different tensions which are both stiffer than the short spring. One is lighter than the other. The lightest long spring is the middle spring in the kit.

Most original kits had a long spring and a cut spring for the softer settings. the cut spring was just the longer spring with a coil cut off to reduce the tension. Aparently the new long springs in the kit are actual full spings and are color coded.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

the red spring is considered the "middle" spring. on the newer kits it replaced the cut spring.

Switch to the gold spring and chrono in the gun at about 280fps. If the gun works fine, the problem was the spring you were using. Use this setup for awhile to break in the carrier o-ring and then if you have problems with paint breaking, you can try switching to the red spring.

I just installed my Lvl-10, and found that my kit didn't come with the "cut" middle spring. I guess I misunderstood, and thought they all came with one.

I had the normal "O-Ring broke in, and now I have to move to the next smaller carrier" issue (now down to 1 line and 1 dot), but after that, everything was smooth as silk... on the smallest spring.

However, it still felt like the bolt would slap the ball with some pretty good velocity, so I cut the long "Silver" spring until it was about halfway between the short "Gold" spring and the (now) longer "Red" spring. It took two cuts (I erred on the side of caution), but I got it to where it seems like the bolt would be feather light on a clipped ball, but still fires everytime (and more importantly, resets the bolt after a clipped ball).

I'll know how happy I am with it when I go out to the field this weekend. So far, I love this upgrade, and I'm sure I'll REALLY love it after this weekend. THANKS to everyone at AO for all the insights!

Y'know, I had no idea about the red spring being lighter. Anyway, I'll try your suggestions the next time I can find somewhere to fill my tank(closest place I've found is about 100mi away) Thanks.
