    Classic Valve Question

So I'm trying to fix a classic valve after it had a little valve explosion...

I don't know what this part is called but it's on the end of the valve where the tell you to use a coin to screw it off. "It don't work no more"

Anyway, on the left you see the good part which I stole from my RT after I put in the lvl 10. I think this part is identical so I used it as a repair piece here. I'm getting to my question here I promise...

I was at the paintball place yesterday when I discovered the problem and took the valve apart for the first time there. That fell out along with the bolt. There has to have been an o-ring that fell out too because now it leaks like a you know what out the front.

Checking the exploded view here, I have the o-ring on the end piece, then it shows the spacer, then another o-ring. It all looks right, but It doesn't seal for anything...

    Any advice?

Thanks for your patience on the longwinded post.

    Mike

okay, I found another thing that I'm not quite sure on...

I've got two bolts that came with the marker and two spacers. Now that I've had it apart several times I don't know which one goes in there. One is marked 215 and the other 225. The two bolts look identical except the end is more sunken in one than the other. See pic...

What is the difference between these? I also have two other springs that came with the gun. Obviously this gun is new to me and I don't know much about it. It also has an elcd on it which makes things more complicated I know. Other extra parts are an on/off valve and bumper...both of which the instructions tell you to replace when installing the elcd.

    Does that help or hurt?

as for the part you broke, that is called a powertube tip (or PT tip for short) yes the lx tip will work, but you will obviously have to buy a new one.

as for the leak, does it stop if you pull and hold the trigger? if it does, then you have a PT o-ring leak. make sure you have a PT o-ring in there and then a spacer and then the PT tip.(also has an o-ring on it) start out with the 215 spacer since you dont know what one came out of it. if the bolt sticks, use the longer one.

does it matter which bolt I use? They both seem to look like they'll work.

as long as both of the bolt power piston is in the same place, then it wont matter. I suspect it was just a different year bolt, or one could be a foamy bolt and the other one a non-foamy bolt.

no, they're totally not... look at that picture above and you can see that the tips are in totally different places.

but is the piston on the back of the bolt that same?

the foamy bolt has a recesed face so that is has room for the foamy, that is why I think it might be that.

I see what you're saying now. I'm kind of preoccupied with my RT/elcd problems right now. Xen, if you have any advice on that thread I would greatly appreciate it.

                Thanks,

The bolt on the right is a longnose bolt. The outer part was made longer to prevent blowback into the hopper.
