ULE body tech question!

The steel washer and retaining ring...I'm assuming that the steel washer is to stop wear of the body from the bolt spring...my question is...

Does the retaining ring really need to be there? Does it hold the washer in there tight or does the washer have play in it? Shake the body ...does it jingle?

You need to use the ratining ring. It should not jingle.
