R/T classic chopping paint when reactive

hello tring to fix this problem with my R/T classic

gun shoots fine in a single shot per pull of trigger, but when it goes even a little more reactive it chops the very first ball.

i have a hard nose Long bolt in it (stock I think)bought the gun used. also im using a Ric 2K ,88/3000 crossfire tank so far i have done this like 10 times in a row , add paint shoot first few just single shots then try and get teh trigger to be a little more reactive and Bam! as soon as i do CHOPPED paint

is the things i can do to try to fix this problem ?

    thanks in Advance

ofcorse i know the easy fix is a lvl X bolt , but this gun has to work with out that too no ?

hehe if i could get a lvl X for $50 i would do that in a heart beat ;-) , (dreaming i know)

Ah yes the old my Rt chops paint question.
check outgoing pressure on the tank. i know alot of guys like it around 800-850 but i always found 700 worked just fine. velocity: old school guys will tell you a mag shoots great in to locations upper 290's but with todays brittle paint that dosen't work so hot and the other is low 270's which is where i always set mine. last but probably the first thing i'd check but i assume you already did is paint quality. try a simple bounce test. hold a paintball about waist height and drop it do this over and over using the same ball a good paint will last about 7-10 drops anything over that won't break on your target anything below 5 drops is too brittle for your Rt. like i've always said mag's have always been a great marker the paint has just gotten terible.

      Thanks for the tips

ok paint #1 OLD PMI paint. well lets just say, you wouldnt want to sneeze near it, or else it would break
drop test broke 1-3 bounces 4 out of 5 balls

then went to some super swirl paint #2
better at one 4 bounces and others max was 9 bounces.

i did shoot both of those paint threw it b4, and both did the same thing but #1 paint was much worse ofcorse

I took the hard nose bolt out of it and tossed in a ANS Phase II bolt from my Minimag, gonna see if that helps

looked as if the tip of the Hard nose bolt was sticking out into the area where the balls drop in. so im gonna swap them and see if my Mini chops now too.

im running a 88/3000 Preset Crossfire tank old tank 7-9 yrs old

gonna try swapin out wire nubbins for plastic and getting a new P/F plug i have the old style, to see if that helps also

im out of air right now, wait till tomorrow till i get air. \

if anyone can help me get this solved i have a Bday party with friends this Sat. im wanting to use my R/T at.

      Thanks for your Help

you know the lvl 10 would solve that little problem. I could not sweetspot either RT unless I had that because it became a paint blander. I would say that the lvl 10 is the best upgrade for the Mag yet (ESP the RT). I know buying more stuff is not always the best case but would NEVER go back to the lvl 7 setup simply because now I can stick mt finger in the breach it's so gentle!

For a tank that old, I do certainly hope it's been hydro'd.

well it really doesnt mattter any more

today i got a Chrony i bought on ebay so i decided to shoot some balls over it, and took the hoper off my mini, its a revvy

put it on the R/T and it was a little cocked so i twisted it and POP of comes the PF tube , the Whole thing !

by no means was teh hopper even tighten to the power feed yet i was very gentle it just plain broke of the welds

back to the Minimag, but even that has some air problems but im buying a parts kit to fix that one.

kinda getting bummed on teh whole mag thing, mostly the R/T its not seeming worth teh trouble its been giving me

Im thinking Im wanting to sawp it for a Micromag

Thanks for all the input if and when i get back on the R/T kick ill be back posting here im sure.

very cool.........I was going to suggest you call AGD. most of the time they will fix those broken powerfeeds for free.

also you have to realise that an RT mag can fire ALOT faster than a 12V revy can feed. without the LX in there, it will chop paint.

"super multi-green mag" Cp barrels, LX bolt, no-rise, intelli, 47ci flatline, halo................
Red dragun body, turbo valve, 12" Boomstick, Spud magics anti-chop bolt with quickstrip, ELCD, nitroduck 68CI,Gas thru stock, 12V revy, AGD Warpfeed system
