thanks hexes, Ill ask about that when I call for my new powerfeed plug. Thanks for the heads up. Unless the hole is bigger on the second part of the valve, the airflow wouldn't change at all. One thing that I see an 8-hole valve doing is making more air available behind the second part of the valve, it still has to be fed through the same smaller hole after....correct?. Kind of how a computer works. You have the speed in MHZ, which is all of the thinking and processing but it all has to get through the bottleneck, which is the front side bus(and the ram speed has an effect but thats another story). So basically a 2ghz processor arranges data at 2ghz, but the computer only runs as fast as the fsb speed. Now that I confused many people reading this, thats the way I see this situation. You can also look at it as a balloon being filled with air. You can fill the balloon to max capacity but you can't make all of the air escape at once. Only as much as can fit out the neck.
Minimag slow recharge.

Kinda, tho the FSB is only part of the picture when it comes to computers, there is a lot of processing that doesn't hit that part of the bus at all. The balloon analogy is better, unless you pop it.
The 8 hole mods baiscly don't do a whole lot. Maybe with CO2 it gave you a lil extra area in reserve, but so little extra. The after market On/Offs are similar. Maybe a lil help, but not much. None of the aftermarket stuff in that area I have seen have have the same open area that the new style AGD ones have. Stick with AGD and be happy.Comment

Next time you have your valve apart. But the stick them of the little spring on a stick thing through the middle of the reg seat. Notice how much space is between the seat and the pin? Thats the area the air travels through when it first enters the valve to get to the back half. It then comes out of the hold on the side (stock valve has 1, 8-hole has 8, PhaseII has 2 big ones).

well the computer analogy is when the computer talks to the periferals outside the fsb, of course if its going through the agp it wouldn't very much matter. I also said that ram speed mattered as well. As well as the on die cache(l1 +l2). In general the analogy is correct, then again you can always find a loophole :P but you know.Comment
