i have searched and found all kinds of threads where ppl power the revvy off of the emag but why not the evo2? is there a reason why it doesnt work or are my search skills in need of help?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. I just built a circuit board to run my rev and warp off the emag battery, there wouldn't be any significant difference in doing it for the egg (just have to fit the board in the egg shell instead of the rev shell). It's not the easiest thing you'll ever do, and not remarkably cheap, but you'll save a mint on batteries.
