Slide check VS. Pro Connect thingy

Hey couple questions regarding air line tolerances and what not.

I'm getting a Flatline tank for my RT Pro. If I were to run input pressure at say 900 psi would I run a risk of blowing the line? Having been quite near a couple folks when that happened I don't want the to happen to my marker. What are the tolerances for run of the mill Macro-line? Should I plan on going to a stainless braded hose?

Also since the tank just stays on the marker I'll need to de-gas with some kind of slidecheck thingy right? I have a couple slidechecks so that isn't a problem. I'm just wondering what is a Pro-Connect or whatever it is I keep hearing about that is supposedly so much cooler? Do I really need one of these? Could somebody post a pic? I have no idea what they look like.

    Thanks,

I believe parker par-flex macroline have a working pressure of 8 or 900 psi. that means it has a burst pressure of about four times that. (or about 3K PSI) it will work fine.

as for the slide check. you can just put a slide check in-line with your qick disconnect at the valve. personally I dont liek this idea. the tiny little hoels in the slide-check can cause shootdown, IMHO. So, I did mine like this:

it still de-gasses the gun but it does not make the air go through the the slide check to power the gun.

a proconnect looks like this. same reason as a slide-check, I dont like them in-line. lots people use them though.

is that pullman, wa? I have a friend that grew up there. his parents still live there. he is the one that got me started on paintball.

      Yup, It's Pullman, WA

What's your friend's name. Maybe I know him. I've been here on and off since '87.

Thanks a ton for the pics. I like your slide check idea. Do you think I can get one of these t-fixture things at a plumbing store or do I have to pay pro-shop prices?

      Thanks again,

        his name was corin carper

if a pro-shop carries it, I would get it there. you dont want to mess with highpressure and cheap fittings.

        I got mine at www.tylok.com
        part number 3FFM and 1MPP.

well i HAD a proconnect on my emag with raptor tank that had a on/off. i just switched it to a simple QD to degass. turn tank off, shoot remaining, then press the male and female part of the QD together, then take it off

Huh, that's a really interesting way to mount a slide check.

I was thinking about drilling another 1/8" NPT hole in the front of my ASA and then putting a QD/Slide check on the front of it.

              Definitely not on the A-Team.
