    micromag/retromag on/off pins...

ok, well, I've done some searching to figure out how to get a little more reactivity out of my retrovalve, and it's been suggested to get a shorter on/off pin. However I also see that micromags might have slightly different dimensions than regular mags, but I'm not sure how much. I've got reactivity, but not much, even at 1100psi input. What's worse is that I'm tuning it to be used on a preset proabably, so it'll really be a dead trigger at 800psi.

I don't have the tools to measure the pin accurately, nor have I found any information on what the pin should be. Does anyone have any info on them? I don't want to try it and end up with a full auto. I've thought about buying the kit, but it's made for regular mags, and I don't know if it will even work. Thanks...

in general, yes. shorter on/off pins give you more reactivity. do you have just a stock retro, or did you buy x-valve? emag valve? that will tell us what length it has now (most likely anyway)

Didn't buy the valve separate. It's an actual micromag RT, 2000 model I believe. It's the vert feed one. So, I'm assuming that it's the standard retrovalve with Micromag laser etched on the side of it.

That's the thing though, the micro-emags supposedly have different length on/offs than AGD emags. I'm just curious as to if the normal retrovalved micros had different pin lengths than other retro valves, since it's not the emag.

ya, I know a standard RTP on/off pin is .765. I am pretty sure that the microRT uses a standard .750 though. (I could be wrong.) you can wait until black or tunaman (or someone else in the know) comes in here, or PM them directly. once you know what size it is, you can get a slightly shorter one.

I have even heard of people carefully shaving them a couple thousandths at a time until it is the way they like it.

If you have a micromag that shoots good right now, my suggestion is that you leave it alone. I see too many isues with these markers. I believe each pin is ground specifically for the gun it is goin in. They need to do that because the tolerances stink. Leave it alone...

I guess that's the thing. It works "ok." But I'm looking to make it work good, on a preset tank no less... I may order some extra on/off pins to try it with...

Do NOT loose the original pin or measure and mark it so after nothing else works you can put it back in.

oh, which end do you shorten, the fatter end or the thinner end? Thanks

the thinner end. you jsut want the overall length less. but you dont want to cause the head of the on/off to not seal.

Carefull, a few 1000's of an inch make a differance.
